    Bruce E. Griffin, 67, of Hot Springs Village passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Bruce was born on October 10, 1946 in Maybrook, NY. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edith (Sterner) Griffin, and Melvin Raymond Griffin, and also his sister, Patricia Marita Brown of Middletown, NY. Survivors are his wife of 40 years, Antonette Griffin, his son, Marc N. Griffin and wife Crystal, grandson, Davis Bruce Griffin, step-grandson, Hunter Smith.

    Formerly of El Dorado, Bruce worked as a Teacher, Principle, Superintendent of Union High School from 1972-2002. From 2002-2005, he was employed part time by the Centerpoint School District as a teacher and Federal Programs Coordinator. Bruce attended Southern State College in Magnolia, Arkansas for two years, and then graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, in 1968. He later earned a Masters Degree from the University of Arkansas in 1978.

    Visitation will be from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on Thursday, March 27th at CedarVale Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm on Friday, March 28th at Balboa Baptist Church, Pastor Ross Woodbury will officiate. Pallbearers will be, Kelly Faust, Larry Spooner, Bill Phillips, Don James, Harold Griffin, Gary Don Smith, Jimmy Corley and Tom Murphree, Randy Conardy. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Balboa Baptist Welcome class. Burial will follow at CedarVale Cemetery.

    Memorials may be made in honor of Bruce to a charity of your choice.
